iPhone Apps

Splash ID
My iPhone would be exactly 25% less useful without this app. Actually I'd still be carrying around a Palm without this app. It's completely necessary in my life. Keeps all 900 of my passwords encrypted and syncs to my MacBook. Indispensable.t

DocsToGo
This is the most used app on my iPhone due to my keeping my diet log in an Excel spreadsheet. I've lost 60 pounds over the last year using this, so it's worth not only the cost of the app, but basically worth the cost of the device as well.

Bento
The ability to take databases from the desktop and carry them around on the iPhone is awesome. You can use Bento as a stand alone database on the iPhone, but once you purchase the desktop app, then the mindmeld is complete. Besides Bento on a Mac is one of the coolest apps to come along in years. It is light years ahead of any other database for personal and small group use that I've ever seen.

Evernote
Best note taking app for the iPhone. Period. No syncing necessary, your notes are already accessible on the Evernote website. Make a note on the phone, or make a note on the web and access them either place as well. Genius.

Dragon Dictation
This is the greatest ever. You talk to your iPhone and then it translates that text into something that most times actually resembles what you said. Great for longer text messages.

Flashlight
Of all the, 'duh, that should have been included from the factory' apps, this one seems like a no-brainer. But, obviously, it wasn't and so it was left the 3rd party developers. This one's free, which is too bad, 'cause it's much more useful than some of the 99¢ apps that I have purchased.

myWireless
Yes, I do need to know that I have 8000 roll over minutes and when my bill is due. Plus, when you think about how many switched to AT&T just for the iPhone it's almost a crime that AT&T hasn't released more and better apps for it.

Facebook
If you're not addicted to Facebook, well, kudos to you. For the rest of us, this app is the best way to keep up with all the incessant chatter from friends, family, and internet acquaintances.

Wikipanion
I'm a Wikipedia addict. Seriously, is there anything that doesn't have a decent Wikipedia page at this point? If there is, I haven't found it. My kids teachers tell them not to use Wikipedia. I tell my kids not to cite it as a source and to use the links section at the bottom of each article.

Yelp
I used to switch between this and Urban Spoon when looking for restaurants and businesses when traveling. Eventually, Yelp won out. Makes me feel like a local wherever I go. I only wish I could complete my reviews using the iPhone app and not have to go log in to their website to finish the process.
